The Zones Academy offers a collection of dance classes, cooking classes, sports clinics, and more for youth ages 7-12 and 13+. Classes are open to both after-school program members and non-members. Find more information on what's happening in the 2024-25 School Year and how to register below.
Join us for a 5-week yoga series designed specifically for teens! This fun and relaxing class will help you build strength, flexibility, and focus while learning techniques to manage stress. Each week, you'll explore different yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

This clinic focuses on technical footwork development for all skill levels through fun ball mastery drills. Participants will gain knowledge of different soccer footwork skills and drills they can continue training even after class. Helping our athletes develop their technical ball skills, footwork, shooting and total body control. Each week the athletes will have a ball at their feet just about the entire hour. With our class having three major components: starting with a warm-up focusing on ball work, followed by specific drills catering to the theme of the week and ending with structured games that help bring out what they learned earlier in the class to game like scenarios.

Introduction to Drawing & Paint is the perfect beginner’s art class for kids. Young artists will embark on a colorful journey of creativity and self-expression. This class is designed to inspire young artists to explore their imaginations, experiment with colors, shapes, and techniques, and develop their artistic skills in a supportive environment. We'll explore various mediums from watercolors to acrylics and learn essential techniques such as blending colors, creating textures, perspective drawing and composition. We encourage imagination and self-expression through themed projects and open-ended assignments that allow children to develop their unique artistic voice. Whether your child is a budding Picasso or just starting to explore their artistic side, this class offers a welcoming space to learn, create, and have fun.

This Hip Hop dance class is designed to inspire young dancers to develop skills and techniques in the genre, learn the origins of the genre, grow in confidence, and develop their own personal style. Class will include both play oriented time and focused learning including choreography, beat counts, rhythm, freestyle cyphers, and break dance basics.

Daniel Theobald
Daniel Theobald grew up playing soccer and futsal in Brazil sparking his love of the game leading him to play academy-level soccer in Southern California and eventually play for Sonoma State University. Shortly after graduating college, Daniel started competing in 1v1 and 3v3 Street Soccer/Panna tournaments, and quickly established himself as one of the top street soccer players in the world. With multiple national and international tournaments under his belt, he has qualified for the world finals for the past five years, consistently ranking in the top 32.
With around 10 years of coaching experience under his belt, Daniel has worked with players of all levels, including private and group training sessions as well as with youth competitive leagues including MLS-Next and high school teams. He has also worked at various soccer events, including workshops, camps, and performances across the globe.
Monse Estrada
Monse discovered a passion for drawing in art beginning in elementary school. While doodling for her own entertainment, Monse discovered a talent for drawing and painting. Through theater arts and art media courses at SRJC, Monse has acquired and perfected her artistic skills and applied her abilities through commission work on canvas, murals and more. Monse’s classes are designed to enhance creativity and personal development and believes anyone is capable of creating art with the right motivation and passion. Monse has been a bilingual youth coordinator for the Zones since 2024.
Mauren "Maui" Navarro
Mauren, known to kids as Ms. Maui, is an aspiring vocal artist, model, dancer, and radio personality. She joins The Zones with excitement, ready to bring her energy to another group of kids! Finding inspiration through expression and movement is what Maui is all about and her experience as a dancer goes back to childhood. At 6 years old, she began her journey as a Cumbia Latin Dancer with her father. In high school, she found her passion for Hip Hop and has never left the rhythm. While attending school at the SRJC, she joined a new dance community as part of the Colleges Dance Team. Her training experience with kiddos ranges from ages 3 to 15 and she has taught different styles from Jazz to Lyrical and Hip Hop as well as Break Dancing. She is eager to grow with the kiddos and The Zones as a whole!
The Zones Academy Classes are not included in membership tuition. The Zones Academy classes are open to both members and non-members of The Zones. Members who attend The Zones for after school programming (either full-time or part-time) may attend regular programming between 1:30 pm and 6:00 pm and will be brought to their class on class days.
Non-members are welcome to arrive for class up to 10 minutes prior to start. Pick up is required within 10 minutes of end of class. Purchase a Class Pass to attend regular programming from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm on class days. A Class Pass is a one-time fee that allows child to attend regular after-school programming before and after class on class days.
