Decorate, design, and create stunning cakes while learning the fundamentals of buttercream, fondant, piping, chocolate drips, edible images, and more.

Ready to turn ordinary cakes into edible masterpieces? In Cake Boss Academy, young bakers will learn professional cake decorating techniques while creating four incredible cakes from start to finish. 

Each week introduces a new skill—from piping beautiful borders to working with fondant and creating stunning chocolate drips. Every class ends with a delicious creation to take home and share!

Class Curriculum

Week 1: Checkerboard Cake & Piping Techniques

Students will learn how to level, fill, and frost a cake before creating a colorful checkerboard design inside. They'll practice using decorating bags and tips to pipe borders, rosettes, shells, stars, and personalized messages while learning the fundamentals of professional cake decorating.

Skills Learned:

  • Leveling and stacking cake layers

  • Buttercream frosting techniques
  • Using piping bags and decorating tips
  • Writing and decorative borders
     

Week 2: Edible Images & Sugar Sheets

Students will discover how to transform cakes into personalized works of art using edible image printing and decorative sugar sheets. They'll learn how to apply edible decorations smoothly, combine them with buttercream accents, and create polished, themed cakes.

Week 3: Oreo Cake with Chocolate Drip

This week focuses on one of today's most popular cake styles. Students will decorate an Oreo-inspired cake while learning how to create smooth buttercream finishes and achieve the perfect chocolate drip. They'll finish their creations with cookies, candy, and creative toppings.

Week 4: Fondant Cake Design

In the final class, students will learn the basics of working with fondant. They'll cover a cake with fondant, smooth it for a professional finish, and create simple fondant decorations to complete a bakery-quality cake.

What Students Will Take Home

By the end of the course, students will have created four beautifully decorated cakes while learning professional decorating techniques they can continue using at home. They'll build creativity, patience, artistic confidence, and practical baking skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Registration fees paid to The Zones are non-transferable and non-refundable, including my child withdrawing from the class. I understand I will not be issued a refund or credit for registration fees for the class.
I grant permission to The Zones to take and use photographs and videos for marketing or fundraising purposes. I waive my right to inspect or approve the photograph or videos, and waive my right to royalties or compensation arising from or related to the use of the photograph or video.
I hereby waive all claims against and release and hold harmless The Zones, its board members, sponsors, employees and assigns from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, causes of actions, costs and expenses in connection wiht my child's participation in the class including personal injuries, death, loss of use or damage to property which may be the result of negligence or wrongful conduct on the part of The Zones and/or sponsors of the host.
In the event of an accident, injury or illness involving my child, if a parent or emergency contact cannot be reached, I hereby give my permission for a healthcare provider to make reasonable medical decisions deemed necessary by a licensed physician and to transfer to any hospital reasonably accessible. I understand and agree that The Zones does not assume responsibility for any injury, damage or costs which might arise out of or in connection with such an authorized emergency medical treatment.
